Alternate Names
hRod; HsROD; kinetochore-associated protein 1; ROD; Rough deal homolog; Rough Deal homolog, centromere/kinetochore protein
Description (eCommerce)
KNTC1 (kinetochore-associated protein 1) is the human ortholog of the drosophila rough deal (ROD) protein. Defects in the drosophila ROD protein result in chromosome missegregation. Similarly, human ROD (KNTC1) is proposed to function as a mitotic checkpoint protein present in multiprotein complexes of the kinetochore.
Description (Vector)
KNTC1 encodes a protein that is one of many involved in mechanisms to ensure proper chromosome segregation during cell division. Experimental evidence indicated that the encoded protein functioned in a similar manner to that of the Drosophila rough deal protein.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
