AAV with GFAP(2.2) promoter driven mCherry
This AAV expresses mCherry driven by an astrocyte GFAP(2.2) promoter.
The GFAP(2.2) promoter is based on human glial fibrillary acidic protein gene (GFAP), which is the major intermediate filament protein in astrocytes. It has been shown that approximately 2 kb of 5′-flanking DNA of the human GFAP gene is sufficient to direct transgene expression to astrocytes and confer developmental/injury-induced regulation.
mCherry was derived from DsRed through extensive mutagenesis. It has an Excitation/Emission spectrum of 590nm/610nm. mCherry’s emission spectrum is similar to the following fluorescent markers: mRuby (Em=605nM), JRed (Em=610nM), mRFP1 (Em=607nM), and HcRed1.
Ready-to-use AAV expressing mCherry driven by an astrocyte GFAP(2.2) promoter. Available in AAV1, AAV2, AAV5, AAV6, AAV8, AAV9, AAV-DJ and other serotypes.
