AAV with MBP promoter driven VChR1-mCitrine
This AAV expresses VChR1-mCitrine driven by an olgiodendricyte MBP promoter.
The myelin basic proteins (MBPs) are a family of polypeptides that are predominantly expressed in the nervous system, where they play a major role in myelination. This 1.3 Kb mouse MBP promoter drives reporter gene expression mainly in oligodendrocytes.
Volvox channelrhodopsin-1 (VChR1) is from the multicellular green alga Volvox carteri. VChR1 has a similar functionality as hChR2 but with a different excitation spectrum towards green light, and shows action potential firing with 589 nm light.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
