Gene Reference Data
Alternate Names
MrgC11; Mrgprc11
Description (Vector)
Orphan receptor. Probably involved in the function of nociceptive neurons. May regulate nociceptor function and/or development, including the sensation or modulation of pain. Potently activated by enkephalins including BAM22 (bovine adrenal medulla peptide 22) and BAM (8-22). BAM22 is the most potent compound and evoked a large and dose-dependent release of intracellular calcium in stably transfected cells. G(alpha)q proteins are involved in the calcium-signaling pathway. Activated by the antimalarial drug, chloroquine. May mediate chloroquine-induced itch, in an histamine-independent manner.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
