Alternate Names
PP5; PPP5; PPT; PP-T; protein phosphatase T; serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 5
Description (eCommerce)
PPP5C is the protein phosphatase 5 catalytic unit that is a member of the large PPP family of serine/threonine protein phosphatases. PPP5C plays a role in mediating stress-activated signaling pathways and the DNA damage response. Unlike PP1, PP2A, and PPP4, which function as dimeric or trimeric enzymes, PPP5 functions as a monomer. PPP5 exists as a regulatory N-terminal tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) domain fused to a C-terminal phosphatase catalytic domain. PPP5C has been demonstrated to associate with and regulate ATM and DNA-PK.
Description (Vector)
PPP5C encodes a serine/threonine phosphatase which is a member of the protein phosphatase catalytic subunit family. Proteins in this family participate in pathways regulated by reversible phosphorylation at serine and threonine residues; many of these pathways are involved in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. The product of this gene has been shown to participate in signaling pathways in response to hormones or cellular stress, and elevated levels of this protein may be associated with breast cancer development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
