Alternate Names

Description (eCommerce)
PHD finger protein 2 (PHF2) is a Lysine demethylase that demethylates both histones and non-histone proteins. PHF2 is enzymatically inactive by itself, and becomes active following phosphorylation by PKA. PHF2 forms a complex with ARID5B to function as a coactivator of HNF4A in liver tissue.
Description (Vector)
PHF2 encodes a protein which contains a zinc finger-like PHD (plant homeodomain) finger, distinct from other classes of zinc finger motifs, and a hydrophobic and highly conserved domain. The PHD finger shows the typical Cys4-His-Cys3 arrangement. PHD finger genes are thought to belong to a diverse group of transcriptional regulators possibly affecting eukaryotic gene expression by influencing chromatin structure.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
