PHD4 is one of 4 PHD (PHD1-4) enzymes that function as oxygen sensors and are responsible for the post-translational modification of HIF-1alpha, a component of a transcriptional complex involved in oxygen homeostasis. During normoxic levels, PHDs catalyze the hydroxylation of prolyl residues on HIF-1alpha and target it for proteasomal degradation via the von Hippel-Lindau ubiquitination complex. The PHD isoforms appear to function in a non-redundant manner and may differ in their expression patterns and their catalytic selectivity.
Description (Vector)
The product of this gene belongs to the family of prolyl 4-hydroxylases. This protein is a prolyl hydroxylase that may be involved in the degradation of hypoxia-inducible transcription factors under normoxia. It plays a role in adaptation to hypoxia and may be related to cellular oxygen sensing. Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
