Geminin has been identified as a protein that inhibits DNA replication during S, G2, and M phases in association with Cdt1 (chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor). Geminin prevents the binding of the MCM complex onto origins of replication, and its abundance is regulated by ubiquitin ligase activity of the APC/C (anaphase-promoting/cyclosome) complex.
Description (Vector)
GMNN encodes a protein that plays a critical role in cell cycle regulation. The encoded protein inhibits DNA replication by binding to DNA replication factor Cdt1, preventing the incorporation of minichromosome maintenance proteins into the pre-replication complex. The encoded protein is expressed during the S and G2 phases of the cell cycle and is degraded by the anaphase-promoting complex during the metaphase-anaphase transition. Increased expression of this gene may play a role in several malignancies including colon, rectal and breast cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene, and two pseudogenes of this gene are located on the short arm of chromosome 16.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
