FOXP1 (forkhead box protein P1) is a member of the forkhead box (FOX) subfamily P family of proteins. FoxP1 functions as a transcriptional repressor and plays an important role in the specification and differentiation of lung epithelium. It can act with CTBP1 to synergistically repress transcription but CTPBP1 is not essential. Additionally, FOXP1 is an essential transcriptional regulator of B cell development [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q9H334].

FOXP1 belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. Forkhead box transcription factors play important roles in the regulation of tissue- and cell type-specific gene transcription during both development and adulthood. Forkhead box P1 protein contains both DNA-binding- and protein-protein binding-domains. FOXP1 may act as a tumor suppressor as it is lost in several tumor types and maps to a chromosomal region (3p14.1) reported to contain a tumor suppressor gene(s). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt.
