Alternate Names
BR140-like protein; BRL; bromodomain and PHD finger-containing protein 2; bromodomain-containing protein 1; BRPF1; BRPF2
Description (eCommerce)
BRD1 (bromodomain containing 1) is a bromodomain containing protein that also bears a PHD-type zinc-finger and a PWWP domain. Although little is known about its specific function, BRD1 has been found to be a component of the MOZ/MORF complex which is involved in histone acetylation. Additionally, several associations between BRD1 and schizophrenia and bipolar disorder have been made and suggest that BRD1 is a new susceptibility gene for these disorders. Immunohistochemical studies have also suggested that BRD1 may play a specific role in neuronal development.
Description (Vector)
BRD1 encodes a protein of unknown function. The protein contains a bromodomain, a sequence motif often found in transcriptional coactivators, and localizes to the nucleus in testis and several other cell types.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
