This is an AAV expressing shRNA for silencing of Rat Opa1.
shAAV-294796
AAV-r-OPA1-shRNA
Ready-to-use AAV expressing shRNA for silencing of Rat Opa1 (OPA1, mitochondrial dynamin like GTPase). Available with optional GFP reporter or cell-specific promoter.
Gene Reference Data
Description (Vector)
Dynamin-related GTPase required for mitochondrial fusion and regulation of apoptosis. May form a diffusion barrier for proteins stored in mitochondrial cristae. Proteolytic processing in response to intrinsic apoptotic signals may lead to disassembly of OPA1 oligomers and release of the caspase activator cytochrome C (CYCS) into the mitochondrial intermembrane space|Function: Dynamin-like 120 kDa protein, form S1: Inactive form produced by cleavage at S1 position by OMA1 following stress conditions that induce loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, leading to negative regulation of mitochondrial fusion.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
