Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
EXP6; exportin-6; ran-binding protein 20; RANBP20
Description (eCommerce)
XPO6/Exportin6 mediates the export of prolifin-actin complexes from the nucleus to the cytoplasm through the nuclear pore complex. XPO6/Exportin6 is found in a complex with Ran, ACTB, and PFN1.
Description (Vector)
XPO6 is a member of the importin-beta family. Members of this family are regulated by the GTPase Ran to mediate transport of cargo across the nuclear envelope. This protein has been shown to mediate nuclear export of profilin-actin complexes. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 14. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
