Description (eCommerce)
Retinoblastoma binding protein 5 (RbBP5) is a subunit of a human Set1-like histone methyltransferase (HMT) complex. The Set-1 like complexes are responsible for mono-, di-, and tri-methylation of histone H3 K4. RbBP5 associates with a multitude of proteins in a number of Set1-like complexes which include various combinations of MLL, MLL2, MLL3, MLL4, ASH2L,WDR5, hDPY-30, hSwd2, CXXC1, HCF1, Menin, PTIP, PA1, NCOA6, and UTX. RbBP5 is also one of many proteins that bind the Retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein, pRb.
Description (Vector)
RBBP5 encodes a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein which belongs to a highly conserved subfamily of WD-repeat proteins. The encoded protein binds directly to retinoblastoma protein, which regulates cell proliferation. It interacts preferentially with the underphosphorylated retinoblastoma protein via the E1A-binding pocket B. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
