Alternate Names
Mediator complex subunit 18; mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 18; mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription, subunit 18 homolog; p28b; SRB5; TRAP/mediator complex subunit p28b
Description (eCommerce)
MED18 is a component of the multisubunit mediator complex that functions as a bridge between gene-specific transcription factors and the RNA Pol II/general transcription factor machinery. The mediator complex was first identified as a coactivator of the thyroid hormone receptor and has since been observed to function as a coactivator of a variety of transcription factors. MED18 forms a subcomplex with the MED8 and MED20 subunits and plays an important role in initiation complex formation.
Description (Vector)
MED18 is a component of the Mediator complex, which is a coactivator for DNA-binding factors that activate transcription via RNA polymerase II (Sato et al., 2003 (PubMed 12584197)).(supplied by OMIM, Oct 2008)

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
