Description (eCommerce)
Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2-alpha kinase 1 (EIF2AK1) is also known as Heme-regulated inhibitor (HRI). EIF2AK1 is regulated and inactivated by Hemin. EIF2AK1 Mediates down-regulation of protein synthesis in response to various stress conditions by the phosphorylation of eIF-2alpha at 'Ser-48' and 'Ser-51'.
Description (Vector)
EIF2AK1 acts at the level of translation initiation to downregulate protein synthesis in response to stress. The encoded protein is a kinase that can be inactivated by hemin. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
