Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
BLOC3S2; Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome 4 protein; LE; light-ear protein homolog
Description (eCommerce)
Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome 4 protein (HPS4) component of biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complexes (BLOC). BLOC complexes are important for the formation of endosomal-lysosomal organelles such as melanosomes and platelet dense granules. Mutations in the gene result in subtype 4 of Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome, a form of albinism [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 89781)].
Description (Vector)
HPS4 encodes a protein component of biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complexes (BLOC). BLOC complexes are important for the formation of endosomal-lysosomal organelles such as melanosomes and platelet dense granules. Mutations in this gene result in subtype 4 of Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome, a form of albinism. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
