Description (eCommerce)
Diaphanous 1 is a member of the formin family of proteins that is responsible for actin polymerization and nucleation activity and the formation of linear, unbranched actin cables and stress fibers. Diaphanous 1 is a target of the small GTPase, Rho, and couples Rho and Src tyrosine kinase during signaling and the regulation of actin dynamics. Diaphanous 1 has been linked to heritable nonsyndromic progressive hearing loss.
Description (Vector)
DIAPH1 is a homolog of the Drosophila diaphanous gene, and has been linked to autosomal dominant, fully penetrant, nonsyndromic sensorineural progressive low-frequency hearing loss. Actin polymerization involves proteins known to interact with diaphanous protein in Drosophila and mouse. It has therefore been speculated that this gene may have a role in the regulation of actin polymerization in hair cells of the inner ear. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
