Alternate Names
apoptosis regulator Bcl-2; B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2; Bcl-2; PPP1R50; protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 50
Description (eCommerce)
B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) is an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of Bcl-2, such as in the case of translocation of Bcl-2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 596)].
Description (Vector)
BCL2 encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Two transcript variants, produced by alternate splicing, differ in their C-terminal ends.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
