Alternate Names
200 kDa neurofilament protein; mKIAA0845; neurofilament 200kDa; neurofilament heavy polypeptide; neurofilament triplet H protein; NF200; Nfh; NF-H
Description (eCommerce)
Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light (L), medium (M), and heavy (H) chains. Neurofilaments are a component of the axon cytoskeleton and functionally maintain neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. NF-H is commonly used as a biomarker of neuronal damage [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 4744)].
Description (Vector)
Neurofilaments usually contain three intermediate filament proteins: L, M, and H which are involved in the maintenance of neuronal caliber. NF-H has an important function in mature axons that is not subserved by the two smaller NF proteins.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
