Description (eCommerce)
LOX-1 is a low density lipoprotein receptor that belongs to the C-type lectin superfamily. LOX-1 binds, internalizes and degrades oxidized low-density lipoprotein and is regulated through the cyclic AMP signaling pathway. LOX-1 is also involved in the regulation of Fas-induced apoptosis and may play a role as a scavenger receptor. [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 4973)].
Description (Vector)
OLR1 encodes a low density lipoprotein receptor that belongs to the C-type lectin superfamily. OLR1 is regulated through the cyclic AMP signaling pathway. The encoded protein binds, internalizes and degrades oxidized low-density lipoprotein. This protein may be involved in the regulation of Fas-induced apoptosis. This protein may play a role as a scavenger receptor. Mutations of this gene have been associated with atherosclerosis, risk of myocardial infarction, and may modify the risk of Alzheimer's disease. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
