Description (eCommerce)
Forkhead box protein 01A (FOXO1a) belongs to a large family of Forkhead proteins that possesses a winged-helix DNA-binding domain called Forkhead box (FOX). FOXO1 is a transcription factor that integrates cell signals to mediate metabolism, the cell cycle, DNA repair, and response to cellular stress. In response to insulin, FOXO1 is phosphorylated by Akt and excluded from the nucleus and subsequently degraded. Over-expressed cytoplasmic FOXO1 interacts with TSC2 to cause its degradation and subsequent activation of the mTOR pathway; while nuclear localization inhibits the mTOR pathway.
Description (Vector)
FOXO1 belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors which are characterized by a distinct forkhead domain. The specific function of this gene has not yet been determined; however, it may play a role in myogenic growth and differentiation. Translocation of this gene with PAX3 has been associated with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
