Description (eCommerce)
Eukaryotic elongation factor-2 kinase (eEF2 kinase) is a calcium- and calmodulin-dependent kinase that phosphorylates eukaryotic elongation factor 2 (eEF2), a non-ribosomal factor that mediates ribosomal translocation. eEF2 is regulated by MAP kinase signaling and the mTOR signaling pathway. eEF2 is phosphorylated in response to stimuli that increases energy demand or reduces its supply. Phosphorylation inhibits eEF2 activity to conserve energy.
Description (Vector)
EEF2K encodes a highly conserved protein kinase in the calmodulin-mediated signaling pathway that links activation of cell surface receptors to cell division. This kinase is involved in the regulation of protein synthesis. It phosphorylates eukaryotic elongation factor 2 (EEF2) and thus inhibits the EEF2 function. The activity of this kinase is increased in many cancers and may be a valid target for anti-cancer treatment.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
