Alternate Names
bromodomain-containing protein 8; p120; Skeletal muscle abundant protein; skeletal muscle abundant protein 2; SMAP; SMAP2; thyroid hormone receptor coactivating protein of 120 kDa; trCP120
Description (eCommerce)
BRD8 (bromodomain-containing 8) has been identified as a thyroid hormone receptor coactivator as well as a GTPase activating protein (GAP) for Arf6 that regulates clathrin-dependent vesicle trafficking. BRD8 has also been identified as a gene upregulated during formation of the neointima layer of blood vessels and named smooth muscle activating protein 2 (SMAP2).
Description (Vector)
BRD8 interacts with thyroid hormone receptor in a ligand-dependent manner and enhances thyroid hormone-dependent activation from thyroid response elements. This protein contains a bromodomain and is thought to be a nuclear receptor coactivator. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode distinct isoforms have been identified.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
