Description (eCommerce)
PGC-1 (PPARgamma coactivator 1) is a nuclear receptor co-activator involved in energy metabolism. PGC-1 was identified as a factor that interacted with the nuclear receptor, PPARgamma. PGC-1 functions as a docking platform for complexes involved in transcriptional regulation such as histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes and the TRAP/DRIP (Mediator) complex.
Description (Vector)
PPARGC1A is a transcriptional coactivator that regulates the genes involved in energy metabolism. This protein interacts with PPARgamma, which permits the interaction of this protein with multiple transcription factors. This protein can interact with, and regulate the activities of, cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) and nuclear respiratory factors (NRFs). It provides a direct link between external physiological stimuli and the regulation of mitochondrial biogenesis, and is a major factor that regulates muscle fiber type determination. This protein may be also involved in controlling blood pressure, regulating cellular cholesterol homoeostasis, and the development of obesity.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
