Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
ah receptor; AhR; AH-receptor; aromatic hydrocarbon receptor; aryl hydrocarbon receptor; bHLHe76; class E basic helix-loop-helix protein 76
Description (eCommerce)
AHR is a ligand-activated helix-loop-helix transcription factor involved in the regulation of biological responses to planar aromatic hydrocarbons. AHR has been shown to regulate xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes such as cytochrome P450. Before ligand binding, AHR is sequestered in the cytoplasm; upon ligand binding, the protein moves to the nucleus and stimulates transcription of target genes. [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 196)].
Description (Vector)
AHR encodes a ligand-activated transcription factor involved in the regulation of biological responses to planar aromatic hydrocarbons. This receptor has been shown to regulate xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes such as cytochrome P450. Its ligands included a variety of aromatic hydrocarbons.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
