Description (eCommerce)
CC2D1A functions as a transcriptional repressor of FRE (five repressor element) DNA element. As a repressor of this element, CC2D1A represses serotonin-1A receptor and dopamine-D2 receptor gene expression and has been linked to nonsyndromic mental retardation and psychiatric illnesses. The DNA binding and repressor activities of CC2D1A are regulated by the calcium-calmodulin-dependent protein kinase.
Description (Vector)
CC2D1A encodes a transcriptional repressor that binds to a conserved 14-bp 5'-repressor element and regulates expression of the 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 1A gene in neuronal cells. The DNA binding and transcriptional repressor activities of the protein are inhibited by calcium. A mutation in this gene results in nonsyndromic mental retardation-3.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
