Description (eCommerce)
Myeloid cell leukemia sequence 1 (MCL1) is involved in the regulation of apoptosis versus cell survival, and in the maintenance of viability but not of proliferation. MCL1 mediates its effects by interactions with a number of other regulators of apoptosis. Two transcripts from the MCL1 gene have been identified. Isoform 1 enhances cell survival, while isoforms 2 promotes apoptosis.
Description (Vector)
MCL1 encodes an anti-apoptotic protein, which is a member of the Bcl-2 family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. The longest gene product (isoform 1) enhances cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis while the alternatively spliced shorter gene products (isoform 2 and isoform 3) promote apoptosis and are death-inducing.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
