Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
CTB-36H16.2; sorting nexin-2; transformation-related gene 9 protein; TRG-9
Description (eCommerce)
SNX2 (sorting nexin-2) belongs to the sorting nexin family whose members contain the phosphoinositide-binding phox (PX) domain. SNX2 is a component of the retromer complex which plays a role in protein sorting in the endocytic pathway. SNX2 may form oligomeric complexes with other family members [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 6643)].
Description (Vector)
SNX2 encodes a member of the sorting nexin family. Members of this family contain a phox (PX) domain, which is a phosphoinositide binding domain, and are involved in intracellular trafficking. This protein associates with formin-binding protein 17, but its function is unknown. This protein may form oligomeric complexes with family members.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
