Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
PAP-1; PAP1
Description (Vector)
RP9 can be bound and phosphorylated by the protooncogene PIM1 product, a serine/threonine protein kinase . This protein localizes in nuclear speckles containing the splicing factors, and has a role in pre-mRNA splicing. CBF1-interacting protein (CIR), a corepressor of CBF1, can also bind to this protein and effects alternative splicing. Mutations in this gene result in autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa-9. This gene has a pseudogene (GeneID: 441212), which is located in tandem array approximately 166 kb distal to this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
