Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
CD antigen CD168; CD168; hyaluronan mediated motility receptor; IHABP; intracellular hyaluronic acid-binding protein; receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility; RHAMM
Description (eCommerce)
CD168 / RHAMM (Receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility) is involved in cell motility. When hyaluronan binds to HMMR, the phosphorylation of a number of proteins, including PTK2/FAK1 occurs. it may also be involved in cellular transformation and metastasis formation, and in regulating extracellular-regulated kinase (ERK) activity [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/O75330].
Description (Vector)
HMMR is involved in cell motility. It is expressed in breast tissue and together with other proteins, it forms a complex with BRCA1 and BRCA2, thus is potentially associated with higher risk of breast cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
