Description (eCommerce)
MINK1 (misshapen/NIKs-related kinase 1) is a member of the germinal center kinase (GCK) family that are homologous to the yeast sterile 20 (Ste20) kinases. GCKs function in the activation of the JNK pathway. MINK1 has been found to activate the JNK pathway and may have a role in modulating cytoskeletal organization, cell adhesion, and cell migration during development.
Description (Vector)
MINK1 encodes a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the germinal center kinase (GCK) family. The protein is structurally similar to the kinases that are related to NIK and may belong to a distinct subfamily of NIK-related kinases within the GCK family. Studies of the mouse homolog indicate an up-regulation of expression in the course of postnatal mouse cerebral development and activation of the cJun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and the p38 pathways. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
