Description (eCommerce)
DEC1 is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that appears to play a role in cell differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and the circadian rhythm. DEC1 is able to promote chondrogenic and osteogenic differentiation in mesenchymal stem cells by activating transcription of bone-related genes. When it is overexpressed in cells it can suppress apoptosis by blocking caspase activation and inducing transcription of survivin. DEC1 has also been found to play a role mammalian in circadian rhythm as a suppressor of the CLOCK/BMAL1 promoter.
Description (Vector)
BHLHE40 encodes a basic helix-loop-helix protein expressed in various tissues. Expression in the chondrocytes is responsive to the addition of Bt2cAMP. The encoded protein is believed to be involved in the control of cell differentiation.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
