AAV with CMV7 promoter driven VChR1-ECFP
This AAV expresses VChR1-ECFP driven by an ubiquitous CMV7 promoter.
The CMV7 promoter is about 0.35 kb in length and is a shortened version of the commonly used CMV promoter. CMV7 has a truncated version of the CMV enhancer. When tested in several cell lines, this promoter provides an expression level that is about 3-5 fold lower than that of the original 0.6Kb CMV promoter.
Volvox channelrhodopsin-1 (VChR1) is from the multicellular green alga Volvox carteri. VChR1 has a similar functionality as hChR2 but with a different excitation spectrum towards green light, and shows action potential firing with 589 nm light.
Ready-to-use AAV expressing VChR1-ECFP driven by an ubiquitous CMV7 promoter. Available in AAV1, AAV2, AAV5, AAV6, AAV8, AAV9, AAV-DJ and other serotypes.
