Description (eCommerce)
WDR77/MEP50 is a component of the methylosome, a large protein arginine methyltransferase complex that modifies specific arginines to dimethylarginines in splicesomal Sm proteins. WDR77/MEP50 associates with the methyltransferase JBP1 (PRMT5) and is important for methylosome activity. WDR77/MEP50 has also been shown to associate with the polycomb group protein, SUZ12, and histone H2A. In this context, WDR77/MEP50 is proposed to function as an adaptor between PRMT5 and its substrate H2A to regulate transcription.
Description (Vector)
WDR77 is a component of the 20S PRMT5 (MIM 604045)-containing methyltransferase complex, which modifies specific arginines to dimethylarginines in several spliceosomal Sm proteins (see MIM 601061). This modification targets Sm proteins to the survival of motor neurons (SMN) complex (see MIM 600354) for assembly into small nuclear ribonucleoprotein core particles (Friesen et al., 2002 (PubMed 11756452)).(supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008)

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
