Gene Reference Data
Alternate Names
lamina-associated polypeptide 1B; lamin-associated protein 1B; LAP1; LAP1B; LGMD2Y; torsin A interacting protein 1; torsin-1A-interacting protein 1
Description (eCommerce)
Lamina-associated polypeptide 1B (LAPB1) binds to A- and B-type lamins. It is a single-pass membrane protein that localizes to the inner membrane of the nucleus and may play a role in membrane attachment and the assembly of the nuclear lamina. LAPB1 is also called torsin-1A-interacting protein 1 (TOR1AIP1) due to its association with torsin, an ATPase of the AAA- (adenosine triphosphatases associated with diverse cellular activities) family of proteins.
Description (Vector)
TOR1AIP1 encodes a type 2 integral membrane protein that binds A- and B-type laminins. The encoded protein localizes to the inner nuclear membrane and may be involved in maintaining the attachment of the nuclear membrane to the nuclear lamina during cell division. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
