Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
NGAP; ras GTPase-activating protein nGAP; Ras protein activator like 1; RAS protein activator-like 2; RASAL2/ACVR1 fusion
Description (eCommerce)
RAS protein activator like 2 (RASAL2) contains a GAP-related domain which is a characteristic domain of GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs). RASAL2 is highly homologous to Ras-specific GTPase activating proteins (RasGAPs).
Description (Vector)
RASAL2 encodes a protein that contains the GAP-related domain (GRD), a characteristic domain of GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs). GAPs function as activators of Ras superfamily of small GTPases. The protein encoded by this gene is able to complement the defective RasGAP function in a yeast system. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
