Alternate Names
COCA2; DNA mismatch repair protein Mlh1; FCC2; hMLH1; HNPCC; HNPCC2; mutL homolog 1, colon cancer, nonpolyposis type 2; MutL protein homolog 1
Description (eCommerce)
MLH1 is an integral component of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) system that functions to recognize aberrant structures and signals for the repair of single base mismatches or loops in replicated DNA. MLH1 can heterodimerize with DNA mismatch repair protein MLH3 and with mismatch repair endonuclease PMS2. [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 4292)].
Description (Vector)
MLH1 was identified as a locus frequently mutated in hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPCC). It is a human homolog of the E. coli DNA mismatch repair gene mutL, consistent with the characteristic alterations in microsatellite sequences (RER+phenotype) found in HNPCC. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Additional transcript variants have been described, but their full-length natures have not been determined.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
