RP1 is a member of the EB1 family of proteins. The members of the human EB1 family are encoded by 3 genes: MAPRE1, MAPRE2, and MAPRE3. The proteins encoded by these genes are EB1, RP1, and EBF3. These proteins have been shown to associate with the tumor suppressor APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) and p150glued. The cellular function of RP1 has not been fully characterized but it may be involved in microtubule polymerization and spindle function.
Description (Vector)
MAPRE2 shares significant homology to the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein-binding EB1 gene family. This protein is a microtubule-associated protein that is necessary for spindle symmetry during mitosis. It is thought to play a role in the tumorigenesis of colorectal cancers and the proliferative control of normal cells. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
