Description (eCommerce)
Plakoglobin (gamma-catenin) is a member of the catenin family of proteins. It bears an armadillo repeat motif and plays a role in cell signaling; but unlike beta-catenenin, which plays a major role in the Wnt signaling pathway, plakoglobin is thought to act as a tumor/metastasis suppressor. Plakoglobin also functions as a junctional plaque protein and forms complexes with cadherins and desmosomal cadherins.
Description (Vector)
JUP encodes a major cytoplasmic protein which is the only known constituent common to submembranous plaques of both desmosomes and intermediate junctions. This protein forms distinct complexes with cadherins and desmosomal cadherins and is a member of the catenin family since it contains a distinct repeating amino acid motif called the armadillo repeat. Mutation in this gene has been associated with Naxos disease. Alternative splicing occurs in this gene; however, not all transcripts have been fully described.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
