Description (eCommerce)
ABLIM1 (actin-binding LIM protein 1) was isolated as a cDNA that encoded dematin-like polypeptides in the human retina. Dematin and dematin-like proteins are actin-associated proteins that play roles in cytoskeletal regulation and morphogenesis. ABLIM1 is a LIM (Lin-11 Isl-1 mec03) motif containing protein characterized by the presences of cysteine-rich double zinc-fingers that play a role in diverse developmental programs.
Description (Vector)
ABLIM1 encodes a cytoskeletal LIM protein that binds to actin filaments via a domain that is homologous to erythrocyte dematin. LIM domains, found in over 60 proteins, play key roles in the regulation of developmental pathways. LIM domains also function as protein-binding interfaces, mediating specific protein-protein interactions. The protein encoded by this gene could mediate such interactions between actin filaments and cytoplasmic targets. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
