Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
DNA topoisomerase 1; DNA topoisomerase I; TOPI; topoisomerase (DNA) I; type I DNA topoisomerase
Description (eCommerce)
Topoisomerase I (TOPI) functions as an enzyme that controls and alters the topologic states of DNA during transcription. This enzyme catalyzes the transient breaking and rejoining of a single strand of DNA which allows the strands to pass through one another, thus altering the topology of DNA [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (GeneID: 7150)].
Description (Vector)
TOP1 encodes a DNA topoisomerase, an enzyme that controls and alters the topologic states of DNA during transcription. This enzyme catalyzes the transient breaking and rejoining of a single strand of DNA which allows the strands to pass through one another, thus altering the topology of DNA. TOP1 is localized to chromosome 20 and has pseudogenes which reside on chromosomes 1 and 22.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
