Description (eCommerce)
Astrin/MAP126 has been identified as a mitotic spindle-associated protein essential for centrosome integrity and the progression through mitosis. Astrin/MAP126 interacts with Ninein and Aurora-A at the centrosome. Ninein, but not Aurora-A, appears to be required for proper localization of Astrin/MAP126 to the centrosome during S and G2 phase. A pool of Astrin/MAP126 also localizes to the outer kinetochore where it plays an essential role in chromatid adhesion and chromosome congression and segregation. The localization of Astrin/MAP126 to the spindle pole and kinetochore has been shown to be dependent on its phosphorylation by glycogen synthase kinase 3beta (GSK3beta).
Description (Vector)
SPAG5 encodes a protein associated with the mitotic spindle apparatus. The encoded protein may be involved in the functional and dynamic regulation of mitotic spindles.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
