Description (eCommerce)
Members of the protein phosphatase 2C (PP2C) family of isoenzymes are serine/threonine protein phosphatases that act as monomers, are magnesium or manganese dependent, and are structurally distinct from PP1, PP2A, and PP2B protein phosphatases. There are 14 mammalian PP2C genes that encode for members of the PP2C family of isoenzymes. Members of this family include PP2C alpha (PPM1A), PP2C beta (PPM1B), PP2C gamma (PPM1G), and PP2C delta (PPM1D). Because PPM1G has been shown to bind and dephosphorylate histones H2A and H2B, it appears to play a role in chromatin remodeling in response to DNA damage.
Description (Vector)
PPM1G is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase is found to be responsible for the dephosphorylation of Pre-mRNA splicing factors, which is important for the formation of functional spliceosome. Studies of a similar gene in mice suggested a role of this phosphatase in regulating cell cycle progression.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
