Alternate Names
aspartate-based ubiquitous Mg(2+)-dependent phosphatase; AUM; G3PP; glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatase; PGP; PGPase; Phosphoglycolate phosphatase
Description (eCommerce)
Glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatase (PGP) hydrolyzes glycerol-3-phosphate into glycerol. It regulates the cellular levels of glycerol-3-phosphate a metabolic intermediate of glucose, lipid and energy metabolism. Has been shown to have a 2-phosphoglycolate phosphatase activity and a tyrosine-protein phosphatase activity. However, their physiological relevance is unclear (PubMed:26755581). In vitro, has also a phosphatase activity toward ADP, ATP, GDP and GTP (By similarity) [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/A6NDG6].

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
