Description (eCommerce)
IP3R3 (inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate receptor type 3) is an intracellular calcium release channel that mediates calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum. There are 3 mammalian IP3R receptors: IP3R1, IP3R2, and IP3R3. IP3R3 has been shown to play a role in olfactory mucus secretion and in the taste perception of sweet, savory (umami), and bitter substances.
Description (Vector)
ITPR3 encodes a receptor for inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate, a second messenger that mediates the release of intracellular calcium. The receptor contains a calcium channel at the C-terminus and the ligand-binding site at the N-terminus. Knockout studies in mice suggest that type 2 and type 3 inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors play a key role in exocrine secretion underlying energy metabolism and growth.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
