Description (eCommerce)
HSPE1 is a eukaryotic CPN10 homolog which is essential for mitochondrial protein biogenesis, together with CPN60. It binds to CPN60 in the presence of Mg-ATP and suppresses the ATPase activity of the latter [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P61604].
Description (Vector)
HSPE1 encodes a major heat shock protein which functions as a chaperonin. Its structure consists of a heptameric ring which binds to another heat shock protein in order to form a symmetric, functional heterodimer which enhances protein folding in an ATP-dependent manner. HSPE1 and its co-chaperonin, HSPD1, are arranged in a head-to-head orientation on chromosome 2. Naturally occurring read-through transcription occurs between this locus and the neighboring locus MOBKL3.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
