Glucocorticoid modulatory element-binding protein 2 (GMEB2) is a trans-acting factor that binds to glucocorticoid modulatory elements (GME) present in the TAT (tyrosine aminotransferase) promoter and increases sensitivity to low concentrations of glucocorticoids. GMEB2 also binds to the transferrin receptor promoter and is an essential auxiliary factor for the replication of parvoviruses [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ Q9UKD1].
Description (Vector)
GMEB2 is a member of KDWK gene family. The product of this gene associates with GMEB1 protein, and the complex is essential for parvovirus DNA replication. Study of rat homolog implicates the role of this gene in modulation of transactivation by the glucocorticoid receptor bound to glucocorticoid response elements. GMEB2 appears to use multiple polyadenylation sites.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
