Description (eCommerce)
Cyclin C is a member of the cyclin family of regulatory proteins that associate with and activate cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) to regulate cell cycle progression. Cyclins exhibit periodicity in their expression and activity which is regulated transcriptionally and post-transcriptionally via phosphorylation and ubiquitination. Cyclin C associates with cyclin-dependent kinase 8 (CDK8). It is also a component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator complex that provides a scaffold to link gene-specific transcription factors to RNA polymerase II and the general transcription machinery.
Description (Vector)
CCNC is a member of the cyclin family of proteins. The encoded protein interacts with cyclin-dependent kinase 8 and induces the phophorylation of the carboxy-terminal domain of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II. The level of mRNAs for this gene peaks in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
