Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
protein transport protein Sec24B; SEC24; SEC24 related gene family, member B; SEC24-related protein B; secretory protein 24
Description (eCommerce)
SEC24B is a member of the SEC24 subfamily of the SEC23/SEC24 family, which is involved in vesicle trafficking. SEC24B has similarity to yeast Sec24p component of COPII. COPII is the coat protein complex responsible for vesicle budding from the ER. The role SEC24B is implicated in the shaping of the vesicle, and also in cargo selection and concentration [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/O95487].
Description (Vector)
SEC24B is a member of the SEC24 subfamily of the SEC23/SEC24 family, which is involved in vesicle trafficking. The encoded protein has similarity to yeast Sec24p component of COPII. COPII is the coat protein complex responsible for vesicle budding from the ER. The role of this gene product is implicated in the shaping of the vesicle, and also in cargo selection and concentration. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
