Alternate Names
HSPC187; nPKC-D2; PKD2; serine/threonine-protein kinase D2
Description (eCommerce)
PKD2 is a member of the protein kinase D (PKD) family of serine/threonine protein kinases that belongs to a subfamily of the calcium-calmodulin kinase-like superfamily. PKD2 and its family members are activated by phorbol esters and diacylglycerol generated by PKC activation. PKD2 has been demonstrated to play a role in IL-2 promoter regulation as well as IL-8 production. PKD2 may also be involved in the regulation of trans-golgi network trafficking.
Description (Vector)
PRKD2 belongs to the protein kinase D (PKD) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. This kinase can be activated by phorbol esters as well as by gastrin via the cholecystokinin B receptor (CCKBR) in gastric cancer cells. It can bind to diacylglycerol (DAG) in the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and may regulate basolateral membrane protein exit from TGN. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
